Accountability
What will you do to promote the just, prompt, and affordable resolution of civil cases that come before your court?
Drawing on my years practicing civil litigation in Harris County, I will ensure justice is affordable by applying the law evenly to everyone. Whether an individual, a small business, or a large institution, every litigant deserves a judge who follows the facts, not one who defers to deep pockets or political influence. I will also bring predictability to my courtroom through clear, uniform procedures. Litigants should not waste time and resources navigating a judge’s unwritten personal rules. Justice must be governed by transparent rules, ensuring a level playing field where cases are resolved fairly, promptly, and without unnecessary financial burdens.
Court System
What specific actions would you take to ensure the timely resolution of cases while maintaining fairness for all parties?
I will never mistake sheer efficiency for justice. While managing a docket matters, Texas law does not require us to prioritize fast numbers over a person’s right to be fully heard. I will keep cases moving at a steady, reasonable pace, but I will never shortchange litigants who need the time to properly present their case. Furthermore, maintaining fairness requires patience and respect. Civil court involves stressful moments, and a judge’s impatience can directly compromise a case’s outcome. I will listen fully to all arguments and evidence before making a ruling. This balanced approach ensures timely resolution while firmly protecting the right to a fair trial.
