Qualifications
What training, experience and characteristics qualify you for this position?
My career has centered on improving organizations through disciplined management, financial accountability, project leadership, and process improvement. As a business owner, project manager, consultant, and ISO 9001 quality professional, I understand how to evaluate complex systems, identify inefficiencies, manage risk, and demand measurable results. I would bring to the HCAD Board an independent, business-minded approach focused on accountability, transparency, efficiency, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
Issues
What are the two (2) most pressing issues that you will face in the office that you seek? Describe your “specific” plans/ideas for addressing these issues.
The two most pressing issues are ensuring fair and consistent property appraisals and reducing HCAD’s operational expenses. Taxpayers deserve confidence that comparable properties are treated consistently, so I will focus on appraisal methodologies, quality controls, performance measures, and transparency to identify and correct disparities. I will also use my background in operational improvement, project management, and quality management to identify waste, streamline processes, and control costs. Current Board Member Kyle Scott has also provided valuable insight into reforms that need to be completed. Building on his work will give me the information and continuity needed to hit the ground running on day one.
