Judge, County Civil Court at Law No. 3

Backlog
How will you address the case backlog in your court to ensure timely resolution for all parties?
I will hold court hearings in person on a daily basis. At the present time, cases have been pending for years. When I was a Judge from 2020 to 2024, I held hearings, judge trials and jury trials daily. We had an over 100% clearance rate in every category with the Office of Court Administration. I believe that if you hold elected office as a Judge, the people have hired you to work for them daily, not for you to hide behind a zoom screen and disappear from the public eye. Too many Courts in Harris County are using visiting judges on a daily basis or having zoom hearings. This will change when I am elected. The people want their day in Court. Access to Justice has been my top priority in the past and it will be my top priority again.
Efficiency/accessibility
How will you ensure efficient and equitable resolution of matters that come before your court, and that all residents — regardless of their financial means — have meaningful access to legal resources?
Everyone has a right to have their case addressed. I am fair minded and will listen attentively to all parties that appear before me as I did when I Judge from 2020 to 2024. If legal resources are available to the public by the County or legal organizations, I will make them accessible to those who appear before this Court. I will always follow the law and apply it accordingly.
