What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?
Prior to Attorney General, I was a legislator and business owner. As a dad to three amazing daughters and a great son, I know politics has real consequences. So I lead with Texans at the forefront.
Economy
What policies would you support to reduce income inequality and expand economic opportunity?
The American Dream is slowly slipping away, and with it, economic opportunity. That’s why my “Protecting the Texas Promise” plan will help Americans as costs continue to skyrocket. My plan will provide the largest tax relief in a generation and put thousands of dollars back in Texans’ pockets to buy a home, raise a family, and live a healthy lifestyle without struggling.
Balance of Power
What specific actions would you take to protect the Constitution’s system of checks and balances?
As your next Senator from Texas, I look forward to voting to confirm judges who will strictly uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, not legislate from the federal bench. Further, one of the most sacred check-and-balances we have as Americans is our election system. That’s why I look forward to working to protect our democracy and our elections.
Healthcare
What specific steps would you take to make healthcare more affordable for American families?
While chronic illness continues to rise, corporations continue to profit. America continues to spend more than any other nation on healthcare, and the results do not align. That’s why as Attorney General, I repeatedly took on Big Pharma for their deceptive practices, and as Senator I look forward to continuing to fight for healthier outcomes, transparency, and accountability in healthcare.
Voting Rights
What voting rights legislation would you support to ensure voters’ ability to participate in our democratic processes?
Every citizen in the U.S. has the right to vote and to know that their vote counts. When a criminal illegal alien commits voter fraud, every citizen’s vote is disenfranchised. That’s why I look forward to working to pass the Save America Act that will require voter ID for federal elections; because it will preserve the faith and trust in our electoral process that every citizen deserves.
