30 years of legal experience including serving as a law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, and currently as a Special Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Justice.

Rulings are grounded in the law, not politics. The primary function of a judge is to apply the law faithfully.

What barriers prevent Texans from accessing the court system, and what can courts do to reduce those barriers?
That is a question that is best directed to those in charge of judicial administration in this state and the Legislature.
Precedent
What factors should the Court of Criminal Appeals consider when deciding whether to change a past court ruling?
Again, rulings are grounded in the law. To the extent a past ruling may be overturned, it means the previous ruling did not properly apply the law.
