Qualifications
What training, experience, and characteristics qualify you for this position?
With over 40 years of trial experience, including almost 20 years in management positions, I am fully qualified to both represent the state and manage the office.
Elections
How would you protect Texans’ voting rights while maintaining election security?
Every citizen has a right to vote. I will take all steps necessary to enforce that right. That will include using the power of the AG’s office to block any efforts to intimidate voters at the polling locations. I also support easy voter access with more polling locations and secure mail in voting.
Immigration
How would you address immigration issues affecting our state while ensuring all individuals in Texas have access to due process protections?
Due process applies to all of our neighbors, regardless of their legal status. It is a fundamental right recognized and protected by both the U.S. and Texas Constitutions. We can protect our borders without walking away from our founding principles. To the extent possible, I will use the powers of the AG’s office to protect and promote due process.
Ethics
How would you increase public trust that the office is acting fairly and ethically?
Limited only by the obligation of attorney/client confidentiality, my office will be completely open and transparent. The days of back room deals and false narratives will end.
Litigation
What is your position on legal actions against other states that provide abortion medications?
These efforts will be ended on my first day in office. The state should have no involvement in decisions about our personal health.
