As presiding Judge of Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 9, I am proud to lead one of the county’s top-performing courts in clearance rates and case resolution. Through consistent case management practices, firm continuance policies, and clear, publicly available written guidelines, we ensure swift and transparent justice.

How will you ensure efficient and equitable resolution of matters that come before your court, and that all residents — regardless of their financial means — have meaningful access to legal resources?
In addition, I am pleased that we, the Board of Judges for the Harris County Criminal Courts at Law created the Managed Assigned Counsel (MAC) program. This initiative ensures meaningful access to legal resources and holistic services for indigent litigants. Furthermore, to safeguard due process for pro se litigants, I ensure they are appointed effective standby counsel and access to the same robust resources through both the Public Defender’s Office and the MAC program.
