Experience Matters in this and all elections. The experience that I bring to Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 9 includes, but is not limited to: (1) 2-terms of Judicial Exp in the very Court that I seek re-election; (2) County Administrative Leadership Exp; (3) 13 years Board Certification and Specialization in Juvenile Law (quasi-civil and criminal); (4) 19 years as a licensed attorney (Former Public Defender; Former Assist. District Attorney; and Private Practitioner); (5) over 20 years of legal work experience; (6) 7 yrs Exp as an Adjunct Professor for Paralegal & Law Students; (7) Extensive Jury Trial & Motions Practice and Exp; (8) Over 70+ Jury Trials to Include Juvenile, Misdemeanor, and Felony cases; (9) Appellate Pract. Exp.
As the current Presiding Judge of Harris Co. Crim. Court at Law No. 9, and former Administrative Leader in the Harris County Courts at Law, I am clear about the needs of the office that I seek re-election. My two priorities are:
Fiscal Sustainability: I will build on B.A.Y.O.U. City Community Court Restorative Justice Initiatives because preventative justice saves taxpayers money while improving public safety.
Defending Progress: I will combat partisanship by building bridges, not barriers, between stakeholders. My priority is protecting strides in equality from political interference.
I seek re-election to refine these essential reforms and safeguard a judiciary that prioritizes justice over politics.
