Breanna Schwartz
I have significant experience in criminal law; I was a prosecutor with Harris County for nine years, and have been criminal defense for five. This experience gives me insight into both sides of the adversarial process in a courtroom. My appellate and post-conviction experience has trained me to think about judicial rulings related to the trial as a whole, and an awareness of how important it is for a judge to stay informed about current laws and caselaw trends so results in my courtroom are consistent and instill confidence in how I handle matters.
1. Addressing court backlogs and maintaining efficiency to ensure all parties involved receive efficient access to justice. I plan to maintain efficiency in my courtroom with strategic docket management by utilizing organized scheduling, clear communication, and a robust trial schedule.
2. Ensuring appropriate allocation of Harris County’s limited tax-payer funded resources for both pre-trial and post-conviction matters. I plan to be attentive to cases in my courtroom and ensure that services rendered to participants are tailored to an individual’s specific needs and ensure safety for Harris County residents.
