I've spent my career fighting for working-class and everyday Houstonians as a community organizer, nonprofit administrator, and small business owner. I've helped secure over $1 million in grants for local nonprofits and have co-organized educational and civic engagement events across the city, serving thousands of residents.
Precinct 5 is one of the largest and wealthiest Justice of the Peace precincts in Texas, but Place 2 has yet to fully implement lifesaving initiatives already operating in other Harris County courts, including eviction diversion and pro bono legal aid programs. My experience uniquely positions me to bring these much-needed resources to this court so residents can navigate our difficult systems with clarity and dignity.

1. Too many Houstonians lose their homes because they didn’t receive clear notice, legal guidance, or enough time to respond (in fact, Texas has one of the fastest eviction processes in the nation). I will establish an Eviction Diversion Program that connects tenants to rent and utility assistance, facilitates settlements between all parties, and partners with pro bono legal aid providers. I will also establish a legal resource center on-site to further assist.
2. Outdated court practices in Precinct 5-2 are leading to unnecessary defaults. I will expand virtual hearings, send automatic text reminders, and improve outreach to make it easier for people to participate in their cases without sacrificing work, childcare, or transportation.
