Janice Berg
I have been the presiding judge in this court since 2019. Before taking the bench, I was a lawyer practicing exclusively family law in the Houston area. I am board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Since 2019, the 247th Court has consistently rated highest among all family courts by the Houston Bar Association's Judicial Poll.
Parties and their representatives deserve efficiency and fairness. I will maintain our policies and procedures, which are designed to make it easy to schedule hearings. I will continue to run a humane courtroom where all parties will have a chance to be heard.
