Karen Reeder
I bring a combination of professional experience, community leadership, and lived understanding of the issues impacting working families. My background includes leadership roles in project management, communications, and operations, where I’ve managed complex initiatives, coordinated diverse stakeholders, and delivered results under pressure. I’ve worked closely with nonprofits, community groups, and public-facing initiatives, strengthening my ability to listen, communicate clearly, and turn community feedback into action. I’m known for being organized, solutions-focused, and approachable, with a strong commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability. I lead with both data and compassion and am prepared to serve my community.
One of the most pressing issues is education, particularly ensuring students are prepared for real-world opportunities beyond the classroom. My focus will be on supporting strong public schools, workforce readiness, and access to career, technical, and higher-education pathways. I will advocate for partnerships with local employers, colleges, and community organizations to expand training, mentorship, and early career exposure for students.

A second key issue is the rising cost of living and its impact on working families. While some relief measures have been passed, I will focus on accountability, transparency, and helping residents navigate available resources so existing policies actually benefit the people they are intended to help.
